Microdermabrasion is a popular aesthetic skin service used to remove dead and dull surface cells, without the application of chemical exfoliation. This procedure is also non-invasive and leaves skin looking soft, supple, and fresh. Many patients have a recommended treatment plan that includes several microdermabrasion sessions to achieve their desired results. We personalize this treatment to improve your complexion and help you love the way you look. No downtime is required after microdermabrasion.

Microneedling is gaining popularity for its ability to rejuvenate the skin through creating microscopic, controlled perforations into the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing process to increase resilience, reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles, and minimize pores and created a rejuvenated look. Rejuvapen™ is a microneedling device that easily treats the entire face, lifting, tightening, and rejuvenating the skin by building new collagen and elastin. Microneedling is often paired with additional facial care, such as PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and assisted drug delivery.

PRP is best known for its magnificent act of skin rejuvenation. The high platelet concentration stimulates the growth of new collagen leading to the skin tissue to naturally become smooth, and skin to feel more tone and firm. The PRP serum can be injected just under the skins surface to make a small amount of its own ‘filler’. The full results will be visible within 4 to 6 weeks because the collagen is built from your own tissue.

Fractional CO2 resurfacing can erase years and dramatically improve the appearance of facial wrinkles, skin texture, and discoloration by stimulating collagen production. It can also improve acne, C-section, surgical scars, and stretch marks. By targeting zones deep in the skin as opposed to the entire skin surface, fractional CO2 resurfacing allows for less downtime than a facelift or microdermabrasion. Since CO2 is our most powerful laser rejuvenation process, all procedures are performed by a licensed medical professional. Learn more about CO2RE Laser.
Sublative laser treatments with eMatrix are an exciting option to improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, enlarged pores and irregular pigmentation. What makes this device especially equipt for handling skin retexturing is its ability to harness the power of radio frequency. We recommend a series of treatments for the best results, which are cumulative, and are most obvious 4-6 weeks after your treatments are complete.

Continually shaving, waxing, and seeking temporary methods of keeping certain parts of the body hair-free is tedious and frustrating. Especially in warmer months, when you want to wear shorts, skirts, and sleeveless dresses, it seems like you can’t go more than a day or two with smooth skin when you need it. Laser hair reduction is an effective way of minimizing hair growth, with long-lasting results. If you’re at the point where you cannot stand one more torturous meeting with your waxer, or if you want to stop throwing away money on razors, consider a more permanent solution.

Facial aging is a concern for many cosmetic dermatology patients; no one wants to look older than they feel. A common sign of aging is drooping skin along the jawline, neck, and even décolletage, caused by a loss of natural collagen and skin elasticity. The result is a tired and sagging appearance that does not reflect your feelings of energy and vitality. Surgical treatment is one dependable way to remove loose skin, but many patients seek non-invasive ways to meet their goals. With Ultherapy in Villanova and Collegeville, the team at Bryn Mawr Dermatology can help you achieve youthful and firm skin that restores your confidence.

Decades before we started using Botulinum Toxin Type A (brand names Botox®, Dysport® & Xeomin) to diminish fine lines and wrinkles it served as therapeutic treatment for a variety of medical concerns. It has alleviated symptoms for children with cerebral palsy, those who suffer from migraines, and individuals with vocal cord issues. Botulinum Toxin Type A helps with these issues because it helps muscles relax. When used cosmetically, it helps muscles in the face relax. This results in younger looking skin with fewer definable wrinkles.
Radiesse® is best used to volumize and add structure to cheeks, jawlines and temples. It is a unique, calcium-based product that over a period of months gets re-absorbed into your body leaving behind a natural scaffold for new collagen growth. Natural collagen is what gives skin a smooth, supple, youthful appearance. As you age, natural collagen breaks down resulting in formation of facial lines and wrinkles and loss of facial volume.

Y Lift is a revolutionary approach to facial rejuvenation that involves no incisions and no downtime. Treatment is quick, effective, and is considered the premier liquid facelift. The Y Lift uses dermal fillers and an unprecedented technique to create new and improved facial structure that was either diminished over time or was weak to begin with. Unlike a facelift that stretches skin over an un-changed framework, and can result in a pulled or waxy appearance, the Y Lift works from the inside out to produce naturally beautiful results that last for years.

Sculptra® Aesthetic works subtly and gradually over time for a more youthful-looking appearance. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra Aesthetic helps stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging.1-3 Sculptra Aesthetic is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as a one-time treatment regimen of up to four injection sessions that are scheduled about three weeks apart.

The appearance of fullness under your chin (called submental fat) is a small cosmetic problem that can create the wide-reaching, overall effect of having a rounded face or looking old past your years. While this can be pesky and hard to resolve on your own, cosmetic procedures are available to help sculpt your facial profile and create the appearance you want: a well-defined jaw and neck that help you look youthful and poised.
At Bryn Mawr Dermatology, we provide Kybella® in Villanova and Collegeville to create your desired facial profile.

Sclerotherapy is an effective, minimally invasive treatment for spider veins. These vessels can be found on any part of the body but are usually located where gravity has taken the hardest toll on our vascular system: feet, ankles and lower legs. They are never a medical concern, but cosmetically not ideal. After a quick injection, the veins shrink and are effectively closed off. It may go without saying, but patients who are qualified for sclerotherapy are those who are concerned about the appearance of visible veins in the lower body.
