Dr. Albornoz, a native of Philadelphia, earned a BS in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a medical degree from Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine, where he was awarded numerous awards for outstanding academic performance.
After completing his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Dr. Albornoz co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, textbook chapters, and poster presentations, including a co-authorship with Dr. Paul Greengard, the recipient of the Nobel Prize. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, Philadelphia Dermatologic Society, and American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Albornoz will be working out of our Chesterbrook and Collegeville offices. These are convenient locations to the counties of: Bucks, Berks, Lehigh, Chester and Montgomery in the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. He will offer medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services to our patients, established and new alike. His broad experience with providing general dermatology includes treating people of all ages, races, genders, and medical concerns. He will truly offer comprehensive dermatology for the whole family, with a patient-centric touch. In a female-dominated specialty, it is an honor to have expanded our BMD roster to include a male physician for those individuals who prefer it. We are so excited to have him on our team and treating patients at Bryn Mawr Dermatology.
From may years Dr. Albornoz struggled with childhood eczema, and intimately understands the frustrations of finding a medical provider who will take the time to properly diagnose and offer treatment options for this chronic skin disease. After many misses, he finally found an incredible dermatologist who helped him clear up his eczema and gain back the confidence and freedom that clear skin provides. The doctor then allowed Dr. Albornoz to shadow him in his practice, and that fostered a foundation for his journey to become a dermatologist himself.
We are thrilled to announce that our new dermatologist will join our practice and begin seeing patients in April of 2024. With lots of experience and expertise in dermatology, he brings a fresh perspective and innovative approaches to dermatology. We are confident his arrival will greatly enhance our ability to provide comprehensive dermatological services to our community.
