Until someone discovers the Fountain of Youth, you should probably just come see us to help you fight the good fight and work on aging gracefully. By gracefully we mean looking a good 10 years younger than you are!
Think there’s no way (or no hope!)? Come see us to find out. At Bryn Mawr Dermatology we don’t let age or budget get in the way of helping you look your best. When we hear: I just woke up one morning and saw this (insert yours: old, wrinkled, tired, angry) _____ person looking back at me…We want to help! Because we can relate, and because at some point, everyone feels this way. The good news is we can help. There are so many amazing options out there to get you looking and feeling your best. At Bryn Mawr Dermatology you’ll get a comprehensive consultation where you talk and we listen. We want to know your concerns, your fears and your desires. We’ll discuss the options that are right for you and make sure you understand and have all your questions answered. Our goal is to get you feeling great about your skin no matter your age!
The first and most basic place to start is with your skin. What is your current skin care regimen? If you say water and a bar of soap we promise not to cringe, but we know we’ll have lots to talk about! In terms of skin health, think about your skin care regimen like eating healthfully. It’s something good you can do for your skin every single day. The bad news is on the excitement scale it’s on par with watching grass grow, the good news is that all those days add up and you will be improving your skin with the right ingredients!
Confused by all the choices? Who isn’t? There are a million choices between the drug store, department store, the place where you get facials, the internet and home shopping channels. Most people have NO IDEA what to think. Not to mention knowing what is hype or what can really help. Then factor in your own unique skin type and more question marks appear. Lucky for you a Dermatologist actually knows the real truth and can help you learn and decide what’s right for you. Many products from the above mentioned places can be really good for you. We want to help you learn what the right ingredients are for your skin and how and where to get them. When you come in for your consultation, bring your products so we can see what you’ve got, what’s working and maybe what’s not. We may not have a sexy full page ad in Vogue, but we know what we’re talking about!
What exactly can good skin care help? The right regimen can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, skin texture and firmness, melasma, dark spots, break outs, overall skin brightness and clarity. Just remember to be patient and protect your gorgeous skin from the sun!

Continuing on our quest for beautiful skin, what about dark sunspots that appear on your face, hands, chest? Or maybe you’re tired of shaving your legs? Want your skin to get a serious jump start in the firmness area? Please go to our Laser page where you can learn more.
To peel or not to peel, is that the question? Peels can be great for your skin. Some people like them to keep break outs at bay, others for a monthly glow touch up. These are non invasive peels using either salicylic or glycolic acid, which are gentle enough to give you no down time or can be done a little stronger if you want to have some peeling effect. Peeling effect absolutely depends on the individual, what their current skin care regimen is, age and gender. It’s important to understand that even if you don’t see actual peeling, it doesn’t mean the peel didn’t work! In fact, most people who have a salicylic or glycolic peel report little to no actual skin peeling, but skin should appear softer and glowing. Stronger peels can be applied depending on your needs. For those who suffer from facial discoloration known as Melasma, we have the peel for you. And peel you will. Our skin brightening peel will have you looking gorgeous but it will take up to 4 weeks to get there. Serious redness and peeling will occur after the peel but the discolorations will be reduced significantly. It’s important to understand that Melasma is a condition and can never be cured but it can be effectively managed with good skin care, lasers, peels and more.
